At Specter we honor the traditions of those great distillers who came before us. 

With our first expression we honor the farm distiller who was a staple of early American life.  These early distillers who lived on the then western frontier (modern-day Kentucky and Tennessee) would often rent time on their neighbors still to turn their surplus crops into a more mobile and more delicious form of currency.

Our California Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made with organically farmed California corn and rye, as well as the finest California barley—malted to our exacting standards.  Using a traditional bourbon mash bill and distilling on a hybrid pot-column farm still, a delicious distillate emerges.  We then age for a minimum of three years in new charred American oak barrels which were hand coopered in the Napa Valley. 

For our first release we selected some of our finest barrels of bourbon and moved them to rest for a short time in Napa Valley dessert wine casks yielding delicate fruit flavors and aromas enhancing the already classic bourbon notes.

All fermentation, distillation, maturation, and bottling takes place in California.
